The crisp autumn air, the brisk fall breeze
Yellow and golden sit piles of leaves
Frosty in the morning, nippy at night
Earlier each day the sun slips out of sight
Summer is gone and winter is near
As we begin to approach the end of the year
Birds have gone south, bears to their dens
And silent and still sit quietly the fens
Wood smoke drifts softly upon the chill air
While coats, hats, and mittens become normal wear
The seasons are turning, we welcome the fall
Good turkey to you, Happy Thanksgiving to all
(and yes, I realize it's a week early)
