They tell us we know not the day nor the hour
Or how much time in this life we will spend
They tell us: live like there is no tomorrow
And that we should love like life never ends
They tell us: dance like no one is watching
But I would much rather be dancing with you
To come hither when I spy
The glimmer in your eye
That makes the grey skies seem blue
They tell me it’s all better this way
But everyone’s different, as well
So I will go on taking each day
Sifting through all the things that I want to say
Maybe someday I’ll get what they tell
