Driving through the night
And onward through the dawn
Watching as the sun’s first light
Rises, pale and wan
The road is ever before me
My path lies always behind
As shadows stretch out toward me
Obscuring my peace of mind
She’s resting right beside me
As the pavement flies beneath
A peaceful smile upon her lips
While she’s fast asleep
Where we’ll go I cannot say
Though I have goals and aspiration
We’ll see it through the day to day
As we seek our destination
A long drive this is and lonely
Were it not for her gentle face
Encouraging me
To always be
Humbly, a vessel of Grace
