Joyful Meeting

Ah, what joy, to see her smiling face
To talk and listen, to share an embrace
How fleeting do these happy moments seem,
Our joy makes them fly so swiftly to end
And in retrospect they appear a dream
One that we dearly hope to have again
Short moments shared in sunny days
When the world’s weight will melt away
When we share that respite for a moment
That our hearts might meet in their intent
