Summer Blossoms

The summer blooms with vibrant life anew
With lush color and scent, and brightest hue
The flowers open, lay their petals bare
Their sweet nectar’s scent fills the gentle air
The bees buzz about them, drinking so deep
To fill the hive with the honey they reap
But I sit outside, on the grass below
Whereby the gentle breezes softly blow
And perched there in my little patch of sun
I lament the blossoms each, every one
For although their beauty, one’s eyes may please
Mine are too itchy from their allergies
