Springtime

Winter’s melted away, gone as the snow
Spring flowers rise up, they begin to grow
Hope springs eternal from the barren soil
As animals come out and farmers toil
There’s pollen in the air, and dust on the wind
Thoughts of summers past drifting through my mind
Bright and early dawns the sun in glory
Each time retelling creation’s story
A cool breeze wipes the laborer’s sweaty brow
Soft words it’s susurrations whisper now
Enjoy the sunny spring weather today
Before summer’s heat comes to bake the clay
