I look out the door, the clock’s unwound
And all the stores are shutting down
A pall of stillness settles slowly upon
The entire town, my own front lawn
Have we forgotten why we live and die?
What’s the purpose of trying if we don’t know why?
Memories fade like another passing day
Till no color remains in a world filled with grey
No church bells ring out the Angelus
A forgotten mystery given unto us
The incarnation was to save mankind
But relativism has now made us blind
Ora pro nobis, saints one and all,
That we may be rescued from Adam’s fall
What is life when we’re all damned?
Don’t let them silence the faithful.
