Thick Lenses

I want to show you the world as seen through my eyes
I want you to understand my hopes, dreams and fears
To look on each new sight as before me it lies
In light of the memories of all of my years

You might say my lenses are rather tinted
You might believe me to be purposely blinded
But ev’ry person’s view is uniquely minted
And I wash my glasses when e’er I’m reminded

Although my sympathy will never be perfect
I will always try to walk a ways in your shoes
And although I’ve narrow feet, it doesn’t reflect
The breadth, height or depth of my views
