For the pine trees, towering
The mountains which gird the horizon
For the rivers and likes, icy cold and clear
The mammoth glaciers as they groan and calve
For the days that last forever
And the ones that are so brief
All the wilderness still untamed
In which we might explore
For that state, Alaska,
Which I shall ever call my home
A piece of peace, God’s country,
No matter where I roam.
