Poetic Game

Practice makes perfect, or that’s what they say
Let this brief poem be my practice then
And if it goes well then maybe someday
You will see this very form used again
In a newer and more wondrous setting
Not simply a creative exercise
Given each these facts, and not forgetting
A little game I shall, for you, devise:
Gathering all of your wits about you
And carefully examining this rhyme
Might you uncover what makes this one new
Elucidate it in a short week’s time?

  1. Wonders the girl a Sonnet incomplete
Then too lucid if that boy's mind be beat

  2. I'm sorry Miss, but sonnets incomplete
Well though represented in rhyming here
Are not to this small blog a novel treat
Thus the answer has still not reached my ear
