Once upon a time
Isn’t that how the story goes
With a pretty cast, a simple rhyme
And an ending everybody knows
But that’s not how life is really
At least not for you and I
Our paths less smooth, more towards hilly
More grey, less blue, in our sky
But that doesn’t make our lives less grand
Doesn’t make us lesser men
If we work hard to understand
And travel on with what we ken
For the best tales aren’t created
Simply by their starts and endings
But by the adventures t’which the characters are fated
And how they face them, wills unbending
In our hearts we have strength conquer
All the hills, and mountains, too
And then what glorious bright days may occur
As our grey skies fade to blue
