Stained

My eyes shed a thousand tears of sorrow
My heart pours out a thousand drops of blood
My hoping is in the next tomorrow
To dam my soul from this unceasing flood
My hands are covered with a thousand stains
My feet are worn from many thousand miles
I am forgiven, but the hurt remains
A penance as recompense for my wiles
These my burdens, they are not forgotten
No matter how much further I may tread
The good fruit which I had turned to rotten
Will act as a reminder in my head
My heart is filled with sorrow and regret
For all the many mistakes I have made
All the good deeds that I did not beget
My hands are stained, the heavy price is paid
