It is odd how we must travel so far
To find what lies in our own heart, our mind
But in seeing other cultures we are
Enabled to leave prejudice behind
To open ourselves to our very cores
And plumb the depths of our very being
Peeling off the many layers of sores
Which cover our eyes, stop us from seeing
Seeing the world may we open our eyes
To all of the truths, and all of the lies
The grandness and vastness of the human race
As we spread ourselves throughout time and space
Seeing new cultures, new hopes and new fears
How others may pray, dry each others’ tears
But inside us each is something united
Which binds us together – love requited.
I'll shoot for something more whimsical and less philosophical tomorrow.
