I feel pain in my chest—the end is near.
It is not death, not death I truly fear.
Death is an end, a merciful release,
It opens a door that lets the soul free.
After this life on earth the rest is peace,
The quiet of the next, of that which will be.
During our time we will struggle through trials,
We look to the future, our only hope.
The distance to bliss may seem only miles
But swiftly we find the end of our rope
My heart will stop, my breath will then release,
My eyelids will shut and my life shall surcease
It is not death, not death I truly fear
But leaving my loved ones when I leave here.
