I cry out to the silence “Life!”
And I feel the blood coursing through me
I cry out to the silence “Joy!”
And I hear the cheerful clamor of those around me
I cry out to the silence “Pain!”
And I feel the weight of a corporeal form
I cry out to the silence “Love!”
And I hear only the echo of my own voice, none other
I cry out to the silence “Sorrow!”
And I feel the despair of a heavy heart
I cry out to the silence “Death!”
And I hear nothing.
