XVII: The Bell Tolls

We know not the hour, the minute, the time
That fate will call us away from this life;
Therefore let us make the most of our prime
And focus on our joys, rather than strife.

Be not afraid to share your joy with those
Who are not so fortunate, lack a friend.
Connect with the outcast, befriend your foes,
And always have a helping hand to lend.

When we are gone, our mortal coil is shed,
It is not awards others will recall,
But the character of life we have led:
Helping out, picking up those who may fall.

So when that bell doth toll, calling us home,
We respond to it joyfully in kind.
And out from under the sky’s great blue dome
What heavenly peace may we at last find?
