Rainy days

Grey skies above, why do you weep?
Into the soil your tears do seep
So cold and wet they soak my head
Making me wish for my warm bed

I understand the life you give
But could you try another time?
I, too, have my own life to live
And sunny days are rather fine

If you were warm, you would be fun
If you were frozen, I would play
But cold and wet you aren’t a one
With whom I’d like to share the day

So rain, Sir Rain, please go away
Mr. John, sir, would like to play.
