Dare to Live

A period of calm
An emotional balm
Peacefully sequestered
From injuries festered
Simple tranquility
When I can just be me
But a desire remains
It pushes and it strains
To brave that maelstrom’s winds
And tumultuous binds
Emotional quandaries
Pushing my boundaries
But life is nice, at peace
I will not go, at least
Not ‘til I see the worth
Of risking my grand mirth
My joy with the world ‘round
And all the joy abound
For that great joy of love
Precious gift from above
Then perhaps I shall bite
And throw peace to the night
Fall to fly, live to die
Make it grand, take my hand
Together we can fall
Together we will fly
Together we might live
That our love shan’t ever die
