Little raccoon why do you lie there in the street?
Rain makes your coat so wet, so cold your feet
You look so sad and lost, as you still remain
And yet there you are, when I come again
What tragic fate deposited you here
Along my daily route so very near
Left you cold and still forevermore
A mere shadow of what you were before
Your pleading eyes cry out to the rain
That falls about your body beside the lane
Little raccoon, why do you lie there in the street?
That final car you met was your defeat
