I stare at celestial bodies
Sailing through quintessent skies
They wink and shine and scintillate
As they glimmer in my eyes
They say I should wish upon them
Or thusly aim my noble goals
I simply like to watch them
Points of light like shining souls
Yet when our own bright star shining
Runs his course across that heav’nly dome
Those twinkling specks are lost from view
Til the still of night has fully come
Sometimes they jet across the night
Or explode in final glory as they die
A beauty to chance to see such a sight
When after our day on the grass we lie
Will you watch the stars with me?
Count craters on the moon?
Will you stay awake with me?
For the morning comes too soon
