Lonely Walk

Why do you walk alone
Upon this dreary eve
Sullen in the falling rain
Clouds offer no reprieve
Why is no one with you
Walking close by your side
Two’s company for sharing
Along your walk outside
The path is long and drab
Beside the barren field
And yet you walk it still
Though the rain, it will not yield
Why do you walk alone
