St. Joseph

Silently he labored, making house and home
Wood he worked and crafted, using lathe and plane
Building up a place where He would live and grow
For the time during which on earth he would remain

We praise him for his work,
In its simplicity honest and strong
We praise him for his parenting
Even when the nights were long
We praise him for his duty,
As a loving husband and a dad
We praise him for determination
To be there for the good and bad

St Joseph is known for his silence
May we learn from him to listen well
For Christ is with us also
If we’d only hear the Word He tells
