Oregon Trail

Started out at Independence Hall
Never knew how far I could fall
Bought my wagon when I heard that call
To ride the Oregon Trail

Tried to ford the river again
Lost the wife and two children
Never seem to learn my lesson
Traveling the Oregon Trail

Mary got cholera, Sam was bit
I keep on hunting, but can’t shoot it
To think this is only 16 bit
Enduring the Oregon Trail

The trail’s bad and I’ve lost a day
An axle broke, but that’s okay
If I want another I’ll have to pay
Surviving the Oregon Trail

I’m nearly there, just a little more
My family’s gone and I’m at death’s door
But the oxen ran and I’ve got no more
Dying on the Oregon Trail
